Challenges of the archive. International meetings

With the support of the Passage des disciplines research program directed by Professor Antoine Compagnon, and the participation of Professor Patrick Boucheron's History of Powers in Western Europe, XIIIᵉ-XVIᵉ century chair, a colloquium is organized by the Collège international de philosophie on January 23 and 24, at the Archives Nationales and Collège de France.

Since 2017, a reflection around the philosophy of archives has developed under the impetus of the Collège international de Philosophie, in partnership with multiple institutions, as part of the "Archive Project". The colloquium on January 23 and 24 aims to analyze the relationship between philosophy and archives around four themes:

  • archives in peril,
  • archives and democracies,
  • archives of the self,
  • the future of archives.

Plenary lectures will alternate with round-table discussions over the two days, bringing together more than twenty speakers and discussants.

The first day will be held at the Archives nationales in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine. The second will take place at the Collège de France.
