Roger Chartier intends to continue his research in the field of study of his chair, entitled " Écrit et cultures dans l'Europe moderne ".

After the publication of three books in 2021 and 2022, his research will feed three book projects. Firstly, a set of studies of texts that have made writing, its practices or its objects, the very material of fiction, narrative or description. A second research project is devoted to the various forms of lost writing : editions of which no copies survive, works of which only the title is known, erased writings. Finally, in a form to be defined, Roger Chartier would like to present a synthesis on the mutations of written culture imposed by electronic textuality and, today, by artificial intelligence.
