Web conference presented by Ufuk Akcigit and John Van Reenen, in honor of Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt.

In 1992, professors Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt published their seminal paper "A Model of Growth through Creative Destruction". To honor the thirtieth anniversary of this seminal model of economic research, and more generally of the work of these two macroeconomists and their contributions to various fields of economics, Ufuk Akcigit and John Van Reenen are organizing a four-day seminar on zoom, to be followed by a main publication.

This conference will comment on how the research of Professors Philippe Aghion and Peter Howitt has profoundly influenced the work of many scholars in the fields of labor markets, competition, growth measurement, political economy, inequality, taxation and regulation, and much more.

More than eighty of the world's leading economists will gather from June 9 to 12 to present and exchange their ideas on the concept of creative destruction, and to reflect on the contribution of this model to economic research.
