With " Agir pour l'éducation ", the aim of the professors at the Collège de France is to understand, advise and act in all their areas of expertise, in a scientific approach open to dialogue between disciplines, in contact with those involved in education and students.
The French education system is facing major challenges, from the decline in mathematical skills over the past thirty years to the growing learning gap between children from disadvantaged backgrounds and their more privileged peers. Although many innovative programs have been developed to meet these challenges, few have been rigorously evaluated, which limits the spread of the most effective programs across the country.
With this in mind, in 2024, the Collège de France is offering a new lecture series " Agir pour l'éducation " organized by Esther Duflo, with the help of the Innovations, Données, Expérimentations en Éducation (IDEE) program, on the theme of experimentation in education and translational research, essential tools to support the development of effective educational policies.
The initiative is supported by the Fondation du Collège de France and its patrons.
