Professor emeritus at Paris 7-Denis Diderot University, Michelle Perrot is a historian and writer. She has developed her research in several directions: labor(Les ouvriers en grève, Mouton, 1974), delinquency and prisons(Les ombres de l'histoire, Flammarion, "Champs", 2003), private life (Volume IV of Histoire de la vie privée, Ariès and Duby, dir., 1987) and, above all, women's history, which she has helped to bring to the fore in France. With Georges Duby, she co-editedHistoire des femmes en Occident. De l'Antiquité à nos jours (Plon, 1991-1992). Recent books include Les femmes ou les silences de l'histoire, Flammarion, "Champs", 2003, Mon histoire des femmes, Point Seuil, 2008, Histoire de chambres (Prix Femina/Essai 2009), Mélancolie ouvrière (Grasset, 2012) and Des femmes rebelles. Olympe de Gouges, Flora Tristan, George Sand, Elyzad, 2013. Michelle Perrot was co-producer of "Lundis de l'Histoire" (France Culture) from 1986 to 2014 and of the "Rendez-vous de l'Histoire" in Blois from the outset.
