Abstract

Active galactic nuclei are extremely luminous, particularly in the X-ray range, which is emitted by accreting and/or ejecting matter around the central supermassive black hole. The study of variability in X-rays provides valuable information on the immediate environment of supermassive black holes, as well as on the evolution of galaxies.
