Abstract
Dominique Cardon presents the state of the art on " Textiles and economic history : fabrics found in Egypt's eastern desert ". In particular, she shows the vast range of fabrics that have been found in excavations of Roman desert fortresses, emphasizing the correspondences between these well-dated garments and the representations depicted in Roman paintings and Fayum portraits.
