Abstract

Large-scale galaxy surveys are powerful observational tools for understanding the evolution of galaxies. In this seminar, we will use the example of the ALPINE survey to illustrate the long process from initial idea through observations with the ALMA telescope to the final scientific result. ALPINE studied the gas and star formation in a sample of over 100 galaxies around billion years after the Big Bang.
