Abstract

Our knowledge of the remote epochs of cosmic dawn and reionization is about to be profoundly modified by large-scale instruments such as SKA and JWST. Numerical simulations dedicated to the formation of the first structures are thus being produced to accompany these new observations and help interpret them. However, the specific conditions under which this physics of the first objects operates and is observed mean that this modeling is pushed to its limits. This leads to the use of new tools, materials and methods, sometimes outside the usual fields of astrophysical modeling. This seminar will present these challenges and some of the solutions proposed to meet them.
