CGAL - Computational Geometry Algorithms Library - is a software library of geometric algorithms and data structures developed by European research projects. After presenting the project, its history and organization, I will describe CGAL's main functionalities in relation to specific application domains. Finally, I will describe the general technical aspects of CGAL: genericity, robustness and efficiency. On the one hand, this will involve the use of generic programming in C++, which abstracts the algorithm code from the data types to which it applies, and on the other, exact computation, which guarantees the robustness of calculations and calls on a variety of efficient arithmetic tools.
