Abstract
This lecture, in a slightly different format, was devoted to answering questions previously sent in by members of the public. It covered six main points : the crucial importance of human-machine interfaces and interactions, often underestimated ; the growing importance of massive data and its processing by deep learning algorithms in the artificial intelligence community ; the relationship between descriptive and operative knowledge, which ties in with the relationship between theory and practice ; the evolution of programming languages, with other ways of thinking about programs (" chemical programming" for example) ; the problems posed to teachers and institutions by the new computer science lectures for young children ; finally, certain economic and social questions raised by the new ways of thinking and working introduced by computer science, or concerning the link between research and industry.
