Along the same lines as the previous lesson, in addition to describing the gut microbiota of these two insects, we considered their developmental, trophic and protective roles against infectious and parasitic diseases. This work opens up new avenues for the protection of bees, a species currently at risk, and possible solutions for the control of vector-borne populations of arthropods transmitting viral and parasitic infections.
