" Human wickedness multiplied on the earth... " - The reasons for the flood and how it began (Gn 6-7)

Abstract

Why did Yhwh decide to destroy his creation, and how did he go about it ? The intertwining of two different accounts of the flood in Gn  6-7provides several answers to these questions.
