This lecture focuses on the first chapters of the Bible, which reflect on the origins of the world, human beings, the differentiation between the world of gods and the world of men, and conflicts between men. These stories also deal with the destruction of the first world by the gods, the differentiation of peoples and man's desire to measure himself against the gods. The lecture offers a philological, diachronic and historical analysis to help us better understand the origin stories in the Hebrew Bible.
