Perig Pitrou is an anthropologist and CNRS research director. He heads the " Anthropologie de la vie " team at the Laboratoire d'Anthropologie Sociale, Université des Sciences et des Lettres du Collège de France/Paris, and various research programs (Domestication et fabrication du vivant, La vie à l'oeuvre, Imovie, etc.). Drawing on his ethnographic investigations of Mexican Amerindian societies and scientific laboratories, he has developed a comparative framework for analyzing the many biotechnologies that human societies have developed.
