Doctoral student at Sciences Po law school since September 2018, Louis Hill is writing a thesis in private law in the form of a critical study of legal evolutionism under the supervision of Pr Sébastien Pimont. Louis Hill holds a master's degree in economic law from Sciences Po's law school (2018), a diploma from Sciences Po's university college (2015) and a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Paris-IV (2015). He benefited from a doctoral contract at Sciences Po, before becoming an ATER in private law at the University of Lille in 2021 and joining the Centre de recherche droits et perspectives du droit (CRDP) there. At Sciences Po, Louis Hill taught a lecture on comparative legal reasoning and, under the supervision of Prof. Horatia Muir Watt, helped organize the PILAGG (Private International Law and Global Governance) seminars. At the University of Lille, he taught the law of obligations for two semesters. His research interests lie mainly in the fields of legal theory, civil law, comparative law and private international law. Louis Hill has been an ATER with the International Law of Institutions chair at the Collège de France since September 2022, and is currently completing his thesis.
