After passing the external CNRS biology technician competitive examination in 2016, Christelle Da Silva joined the Oocyte Mechanics and Morphogenesisteam co-directed by Marie-Hélène Verlhac and Marie-Emilie Terret at the Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche en Biologie (UMR 7241, U 1050, CIRB) at Collège de France. The team studies the end of oocyte growth followed by meiotic divisions during the final stage of ovogenesis in the mouse, with particular emphasis on the positioning of meiotic chromosomes. Within this team, Christelle Da Silva acts as lab manager, assisting her research team with organizational and technical aspects. She is responsible for managing, training and monitoring staff, as well as carrying out experiments for various projects within the team. She also has cross-functional activities such as her role as Prevention Assistant and is in charge of the common stock (compactus) for the Centre Interdisciplinaire de Recherche en Biologie. She recently passed the competition to join the team as an assistant engineer.
