Alessandro Pasqui is a PhD student in the Turlier team " Multiscale Physics of Morphogenesis " at CIRB, Collège de France. He is part of the AI4theSciences doctoral program at Université PSL, supported and co-funded by the European Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions-COFUND program. His project will use deep neural networks to develop an algorithm for reconstructing the 3D morphology of the human embryo from 2D medical images to improve prediction of its development potential. He previously studied theoretical physics and statistical mechanics at Rome's Sapienza University. He carried out his master's project in the laboratories of the Italian Institute of Technology in Rome, under the direction of Prof. G. Ruocco and Dr. G. Gosti, where he developed a new computational algorithm for 2D and 3D puzzle solving based on orthogonal polynomials used as local shape descriptors.
