" The propaganda designed to pass off the course taken by economic globalization as a fact of nature, imposing itself on the whole of humanity without any possible discussion, seems to have covered up even the memory of the social lessons that had been drawn from the experience of the two world wars. Faith in the spontaneous order of the market has replaced the desire to ensure a little justice in the production and distribution of wealth on a global scale, condemning the huge crowd of losers in the new world economic order to impoverishment, migration, exclusion or violence. The current failure of this system prompts us to return to the spirit of the 1944 Declaration of Philadelphia, to dispel the mirage of the total market and chart new paths to social justice. "
