The Indian and Central Asian Studies Library holds over eighty manuscripts written on ôles, or palm leaves. Of these, barely six were written in Tamil. One of them has received particular attention for the quality of its writing and layout. It is a collection of aphorisms that compiles two ordinarily distinct texts, which makes it singular despite its lacunar state.
