September 17 and 18, 2011 - European Heritage Days at the Collège de France

The Collège de France opens its doors to invite visitors on a heritage journey:


- A tour of the inner courtyards (architecture and sculptures) and historic spaces, including a special visit to the Salle d'Assemblée des Professeurs du Collège de France, and the presentation of works on the theme of cultural transfers

- A unique temporary exhibition, organized by the Collège de France's Institut des Civilisations, on the theme of cultural transfers, social history and ethnology of the five continents, with a selection of works, documents and objects presented to the public for the first time

- A continuous screening of documentary films on the theme of the voyage of ideas (Maurice Halbwachs amphitheatre and room no. 2): Jean-Pierre Vernant, " Ulysse en personne " (1h) ; Claude Lévi-Strauss, Interview (8mn) ; Bernard Frank, " L'Orient, rêves, réalités, études " (10mn)

- Sales point (Publications du Collège de France) and multimedia demonstration
