Since their inception in 1991, the INPI Trophies have recognized and rewarded companies and research centers that are emblematic of French innovation, and which stand out for the essential role of industrial property in their development strategy.
In 2020, the jury recognized RS2E, winner in the Research category for its work on the batteries of the future.
RS2E was created in 2011 under the impetus of Jean-Marie Tarascon, holder of the Chemistry of Materials and Energy chair at the Collège de France. Supported by the CNRS and the French Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, the network comprises 17 laboratories and some 13 industrial partners developing new solutions for energy storage. Their work focuses in particular on batteries and supercapacitors, with the aim of developing solutions for electric mobility and renewable energy storage. The award recognizes the importance of an effective collaboration policy between academic and industrial partners within a network such as RS2E, as well as the quality of the RS2E's commercialization strategy.
