The possibility of simultaneously cooling different atomic species - or different spin components for the same species - opens the way to many original phenomena in the field of N-body quantum physics. The interaction between these components can be finely controlled via diffusion resonance or electromagnetic coupling. In this way, new states of matter can be realized, from solitons through heteronuclear molecules to supersolids. Forces arising from magnetic or electric dipolar couplings play an important role here, and can give rise to a new long-range order. The workshop will take stock of this rapidly developing field, with presentations of numerous recent theoretical and experimental results.
