On October 12, 2022, the L'Oréal Foundation, in partnership with the French Academy of Sciences and the French National Commission for UNESCO, awarded the Prix Jeunes Talents Pour les Femmes et la Science France 2022 to 35 brilliant young female researchers.
Among these, Rachel Breton, a doctoral student at the Centre interdisciplinaire de recherche en biologie du Collège de France (Interactions neurogliales en physiopathologie cérébrale team headed by Nathalie Rouach), was singled out for her scientific contribution to the role of astrocytes in critical developmental periods. She hopes to gain a better understanding of how the brain functions, with a view to participating in the development of therapies to combat neurological diseases.
