The Simple Life

What are the " ordinary " virtues of our lives, those that often go unnoticed in the way we are sensitive above all to striking gestures ? Carlo Ossola reminds us of them, virtues for ourselves and for others, minimal and common virtues that ground and measure man and society.
Twelve of these everyday qualities, Les Vertus communes, was published by Belles Lettres in 2019. In the public distress of recent years, continuing his reflection, he found it necessary to better distinguish between the exercises that serve to form us and the conduct to adopt with others ; between the body of society and our body remain lacerations that can strengthen us or suffocate us : simple living is the direct way to release the " propre " of our action.

Translated from the Italian by Lucien d'Azay and Olivier Chiquet.
