TheMathC2+ program is designed for students from the fourth to the twelfth grades, offering three to five days of stimulating, fun-filled university work experience.Organized throughout France and immersed outside their daily lives, these internships aim to show students - particularly girls and young people far removed from academic circles - that mathematics offers exciting prospects beyond high school. The program is run by Stéphane Mallat, Professor of Data Science.
These free courses, lasting a few days (always during the school vacations), are an opportunity to see mathematics in a different light, to work in small groups, to meet researchers, both men and women, and ultimately to develop and consolidate vocations in the sciences, and in mathematics in particular. Meetings and exercises with students and researchers provide a new approach to mathematics, outside the classroom. They also provide an opportunity to make links between mathematics and other scientific subjects : physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy, etc.
This project is part of the Collège de France's Agir pour l'éducation initiative.
