Les vertiges du corps et les espaces de l'Art - Émission Croisements (France Culture) of August 21, 2011

Croisements is a France Culture/Collège de France/Le Point program, presented by Philippe Petit, every Sunday at 2pm.

The vertigo of the body and the spaces of Art

Alain Berthoz and Roland Recht

What place does our body occupy in the spaces of art? Our bodies as spectators, but also those represented by artists. This body in motion, which throughout the history of art has constantly modified the meaning conferred on the concept of space. But what exactly is the evolution of the various plastic representations of this physicality? Have photography, cinema and today the digital arts changed our perception of the body? And with the progressive dematerialization of works of art, is the traditional museum space under threat? Does it need to be rethought? Alain Berthoz and Roland Recht attempt to provide answers to all these questions.
