The professors of the Collège de France are meeting this Wednesday, January 18, to launch the "Agir pour l'éducation - Un enjeu scientifique pour la société" initiative.
Faced with the crisis facing the French education system, the professors of the Collège de France are committed to upholding the Republican promise of education for all, and defending the role of schools as a factor of equality. Their objectives: to cross-fertilize knowledge and advance research to better understand the difficulties faced by students, to offer scientifically-proven teaching tools, to raise awareness of the sciences and contribute to the training of enlightened citizens.
They teach mathematics, sociology, economics, literature and cognitive psychology at the Collège de France, whose vocation is to make this knowledge available to all, free of charge and without any formal qualifications. Philippe Aghion, Nalini Anantharaman, Stanislas Dehaene, Esther Duflo, Stéphane Mallat, William Marx, Pierre-Michel Menger and Thomas Römer will be taking part in the event on Wednesday, putting all the dimensions of scientific knowledge at the service of schools, and officially launching the "Agir pour l'éducation" initiative, with the participation of Pap Ndiaye, French Minister of Education and Youth.
