On Wednesday June 7, the Collège de France will host a symposium organized by the Fonds France-Berkeley. On this occasion, Professors Alain Prochiantz and Thomas Römer will give their views on the state of research conducted at the Collège de France in their respective fields, and prizes will be awarded by the Fund to three researchers.
This year's winners are Samitha Samiranayake and Maria Laura delle Monache for their project "Optimal traffic flow management with GPS enbaled smartphones", and Rodolphe Clérac for his project "Photomagnetic Metal-Cyanide Clusters".
The France-Berkeley Fund supports scientific exchanges between French higher education and research establishments and the University of California at Berkeley. To this end, it awards annual grants of up to $10,000 to researchers with excellent research projects. It also awards a $2,500 prize to researchers who have successfully completed projects financed by the Fund.
