Jean Dalibard, Professor at the Collège de France and researcher at the LKB, received the "BEC Award senior 2017" on September 3, 2017 at the biennial "Bose-Einstein Condensation" conference. The award recognizes his theoretical and experimental contributions in the field of quantum gases, in particular on the condensate interference problem, the physics of rotating gases, the Kosterlitz-Thouless transition in two-dimensional fluids, and artificial gauge fields.
