As part of "Franca.Br 2009, the Year of France in Brazil", the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, the French Academy of Sciences and the Collège de France are organizing a number of scientific meetings in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo from September 14 to 18:
- mathematics and physics seminar (Academy of Sciences in Rio de Janeiro, September 14-16) with the participation of Collège de France professors Claude Cohen-Tannoudji, Serge Haroche, Pierre-Louis Lions, Jean-Claude Pecker and Jean-Christophe Yoccoz
- chemistry seminar (University of Sao Paulo, September 14-16) with the participation of Collège de France professors Marc Fontecave and Jacques Livage
- biology-medical sciences meetings (University of Sao Paulo, Heart Institute in Sao Paulo, International Cardiology Congress in Salvador, September 14-16) with the participation of Collège de France professors Pierre Corvol and Stanislas Dehaene
- science for Society" conference (Rio de Janeiro, September 18) with Prof. Pierre Corvol.

Prof. Mireille Delmas-Marty's Chair is also organizing a colloquium on " Figures de l'internationalisation du droit - Amérique Latine " (São Paulo, September 14-15) and the " Troisième rencontre du réseau ID (Internationalisation du Droit) franco-brésilien" (São Paulo, September 16-17).
"Franca.Br 2009", the Year of France in Brazil (April 21-November 15) is organized: in France, by the French General Commissariat, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Ministry of Culture and Communication and Culturesfrance; in Brazil, by the Brazilian General Commissariat, the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Foreign Relations.
