February and March 2013 - Fondation Claude-Antoine Peccot (Mathematical sciences)

Introducing the Foundation

Several successive donations (in 1886, 1894, 1897, 1902) enabled the creation of scholarships, which were later transformed into prizes; then, from 1900 onwards, a lectureship for mathematicians under the age of thirty who had distinguished themselves in theoretical or applied mathematics.

Program

- Valentin Féray
Chargé de Recherches, CNRS
Invited by the Assembly of Professors, will give a series of lessons on the following topic:
Dual approach to representations of the symmetric group
These lessons will take place at the Collège de France (11, place Marcelin-Berthelot, Paris 5e), on Mondays February 4 and 11, 2013 from 10:00 am to 12:15 pm, in room 5.

- Peter Scholze
Professor at the University of Bonn (Germany)
Invited by the Assembly of Professors, will give a series of lessons on the following topic:
A p-adic Analogue of Riemann's Classification of Complex Abelian Varieties
These lessons will take place at the Collège de France (11, place Marcelin-Berthelot, Paris 5e), on Mondays March 4, 11 and 18 and Friday March 22, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, in Room 2.

Chargé de recherche CNRS, UMPA, ENS (Lyon)
Invited by the Teachers' Assembly, will give a series of lessons on the following topic:
Autour de la percolation presque-critique et de l'arbre couvrant minimal dans le plan
These lessons will take place at the Collège de France (11, place Marcelin-Berthelot, Paris 5e), on Mondays March 18 and 25, April 8 and 15, 2013 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, in the Guillaume Budé amphitheater.
