On the occasion of the European Heritage Days on September 17 and 18, 2022, the Collège de France will be opening its doors to visitors for a tour that will enable them to appreciate the rich history and diversity of its heritage, and to discover the Champollion 1822 exhibition, inaugurated on this occasion.
Free of charge and open to all, the exhibition is dedicated to the history of hieroglyphic deciphering and the figure of Jean-François Champollion, professor at the Collège de France.
The assembly room of the Collège de France, where the deliberations of its professors take place, will be exceptionally open to the public during these days, and the public will be able to discover unique objects, paintings, books and manuscripts drawn from the establishment's precious collections. They will also be able to purchase The Collège de France Publishing Department books and various souvenir items from the temporary boutique set up for the occasion.
The European Heritage Days will be held at the Collège de France, 11 place Marcelin-Berthelot - 75005 Paris on September 17 and 18, 2022, from 10 am to 6 pm.
Admission free without reservation, subject to availability and sanitary conditions. Accessible to wheelchair users.
