Esther Duflo, Nobel Prize in Economics 2019

The Collège de France congratulates Esther Duflo, who was elected to the annual "Knowledge against poverty" chair in partnership with AFD (Agence Française de Développement) for the 2008-2009 academic year. She is a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she holds the Abdul Latif Jameel Chair in Poverty Reduction and Development Economics.

Esther Duflo shares her prize with Abhijit Banerjee and Michael Kremer. The 2019 Nobel Prize in Economics, or more accurately the Bank of Sweden Prize in Economic Sciences in memory of Alfred Nobel, awarded them for their work on alleviating global poverty.
