Following on from the projects launched over the last two years, the Law, Culture and Society in Ancient Rome Chair is once again organizing its doctoral seminar. This will focus on the lecture given by Prof. Mantovani from March 8, 2023: "Droit de nature, nature sans droits. Roman implicits in contemporary thought".
The first part of the seminar will consist of a discussion of the lecture. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, particularly on the interpretations formulated by Professor Mantovani. The second part will be devoted to a twenty-minute presentation and interpretation of a text chosen by the participants in connection with the lecture and their research topics. This will be followed by a discussion.
The aim of this meeting is to encourage exchanges between young researchers, halfway between a seminar and a doctoral workshop, on Roman law themes and their reception.
Four sessions are planned at the Collège de France (site Marcelin-Berthelot), starting on March 15, 2023. The seminar is open to doctoral students and young researchers in Roman law, Roman-Canonical law, Roman history and philology.
a maximum of 10 young researchers may participate.
To register, and for further information, please contact Pr Dario Mantovani before January 23, 2023, sending a CV and a brief description of your research, using the link below.
