In this symposium, we will use theoretical models and empirical data to examine the extent of crossbreeding in humans and other species. In particular, we'll look at how interbreeding between human populations, or between our species and other now-extinct human forms (such as Neanderthals), has facilitated adaptation to environmental variables, including pathogens.
