The challengedata.ens.fr website , launched by the team of Prof. Stéphane Mallat, holder of the Data Science Chair at the Collège de France, is a platform that organizes data processing competitions for students, engineers and researchers. These challenges are proposed by public services, companies or scientific laboratories, and are based on concrete problems. Participants submit the results of their classification or prediction algorithms, which are then put into competition on the website.
The challenges are integrated into Stéphane Mallat's lectures at the Collège de France, and are also offered in numerous data science lectures in France and the French-speaking world. They open up a space for scientific exchange in data science, with over eight thousand participants in 2021.
The 2022 edition is now launched with twelve new challenges, organized in partnership with the Ecole Normale Supérieure and the Institut Louis Bachelier. They integrate temporal data, images or text, and cover new industrial, service and sustainable development issues. The presentations will take place in the Marguerite de Navarre amphitheatre at the Collège de France, on Wednesday January 19 and 26 at 11am. Videos will be available on the Collège de France website.
