Bernard Derrida, Professor at the Collège de France, receives the Prix des Trois Physiciens 2015

Bernard Derrida

This prize, founded by Madame Eugène Bloch, perpetuates the memory of the three founders of the Physics Laboratory at the Ecole Normale Supérieure, Henri Abraham, Eugène Bloch and Georges Bruhat, all of whom were deported to Nazi camps.

The winner of the 2015 Prix des Trois Physiciens is Bernard Derrida, Professor at the Collège de France, Member of the Laboratoire de Physique Statistique de l'ENS and of the Académie des Sciences, "for his pioneering work on disordered or out-of-equilibrium systems". Bernard Derrida is one of the world's most brilliant statistical physicists, as demonstrated by the prestigious Boltzmann Medal he was awarded in 2010. His scientific work is particularly rich, covering the theory of disordered systems, the dynamics of complex networks, non-equilibrium systems, and even applications of statistical physics to problems in genetics, neural networks and traffic.
The award ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at 1:30pm during an exceptional seminar at the Physics Department of the Ecole Normale Supérieure, Salle de Conférence IV, 24 rue Lhomond, 75005 Paris
