From L'Âge de l'éloquence to L'École du silence, from La République des Lettres to Paris New-York et Retour, Marc Fumaroli (1932-2020) of the Académie française has left a considerable intellectual legacy in literary history and art history studies. Professor of Rhetoric and Society in Europe (16th-17th centuries) at the Collège de France (1987-2002), he was also President of the Société des Amis du Louvre for two decades (1996-2016). A two-day colloquium on Marc Fumaroli's work in literature, the arts and cultural policy will be held at the Collège de France and the Louvre auditorium
