Round table in the presence of the French President

A few days after the informal European Council in Budapest on November 7 and 8 2024, during which the Heads of State and Government discussed at length the conclusions of the report submitted by Mario Draghi to the President of the European Commission on September 9 2024, and adopted the Budapest Declaration on the new pact for European competitiveness, this round table, organized by Prof. Philippe Aghion, holder of the Economics of Institutions, Innovation and Growth chair at the Collège de France, provides an opportunity to review the findings and recommendations of Mario Draghi's report, and the economic situation in which Europe finds itself today, both structurally (lack of investment and competitiveness, abundance of standards, low utilization of savings..) and cyclically, against a backdrop of geopolitical and trade tensions.
