We have disagreements with others all the time, on subjects ranging from the trivial to the profound, from the simple to the complex. What is the correct and rational reaction to such disagreements? If someone disagrees with one of my beliefs, it follows from what I believe, it seems, that they are wrong. Should I then point out that, in fact, he is wrong, and retain my own belief? On the other hand, if the other person who disagrees with me seems as competent, as well-informed as I am, can't we just as well assume that I'm the one who's wrong?...
