The Great Study is a small text that has had a long and wide-ranging destiny not only in China, but also beyond, notably in Korea and Japan, where it has given rise to considerable developments. It is the multiple interpretations, uses, instrumentalizations and reconstructions of this now-canonical text that are the subject of the present symposium, bringing together international specialists from a wide range of disciplines and fields.
