This colloquium is the research seminar of the History and Archaeology of African Worlds chair at the Collège de France. It is co-organized and led by Pr François-Xavier Fauvelle (Collège de France) and Ghislaine Lydon, Professor at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). This seminar-colloquium, to be held in June 2023, follows on from the one held in May 2022 " Histoire du Sahara (jusqu'à 650 de notre ère) ", organized by François-Xavier Fauvelle and Jean-Loïc Le Quellec, Director of Research Emeritus at the CNRS.

Admission is free, without reservation. Papers delivered at the symposium will be of an advanced scientific nature ; they will be delivered in French or English ; they will not be broadcast live, nor subsequently online.
