There is a strong scientific consensus among economists in favor of applying the polluter-pays principle toCO2 emissions, with no exemptions. However, there is no consensus on the level of the carbon price that should be imposed to align the interests of polluters with the general interest. In this symposium, various world-renowned experts on the subject will express their analysis. Most of these studies suggest a much higher carbon price than the estimates produced by the integrated climate/economy models of the last twenty years.
