Abstract

One of the major frontiers of contemporary cosmology is to elucidate the nature of dark energy, responsible for a mysterious phenomenon : the acceleration of the expansion of the Universe. The European Space Agency's Euclid satellite aims to map the Universe in three dimensions in order to meet this challenge. In this lecture, we will explore the various possible theories and their implications for the future of the Universe. By discussing how the properties of dark energy can be measured using Euclid data, we will also see that a methodological revolution is underway, in which machine learning plays a major role in extracting cosmological information.
