The year's seminars covered the following topics:

  • Transformations of instrumental sound using a real-time digital processor.
  • Extension of the notion of arpeggio, using regular delays and transformations such as frequency shifting and ring modulation.
  • Demultiplication of instrumental rhythms using rhythmic sequences associated with delays.
  • Modification of instrumental sounds by synthesized sounds or other instrumental sounds.
  • Frequency detection: difficulties in detecting an instrumental frequency; different applications for triggering either a modification process or a synthesized score.
  • Spatial distribution: dependent or not on other criteria, such as dynamics.
  • Study of the programs on the 4X machine that enable these operations in real time.
