The seminar will continue with a reading of Ulpian's On the Duties of the Proconsul, a kind of guide that allows us to virtually see the Roman provincial governor in action, and to understand how his actions were bound by the bonds of law. The seminar will provide an opportunity to present and discuss the critical edition of De officio proconsulis currently underway, and to introduce participants to the study of jurists' works as literature.
Participation in the seminar requires a basic knowledge of Latin.
A doctoral seminar linked to the lecture is also planned : interested parties are invited to contact the professor.
