Abstract
The interaction of light with matter is extremely rich. In chemistry and biology, the photon is used as a reagent in a wide range of preparative and analytical scientific developments. As this seminar will illustrate, however, the use of photons needs to be carefully controlled to ensure maximum benefit, reproducibility and fair comparison of results.
