Abstract

Challenges are proposed by public services, companies or scientific laboratories, and are based on real-life problems. Participants submit the results of their classification or prediction algorithms, which are then put into competition via the website. The challenges are integrated into Prof. Stéphane Mallat's lectures at the Collège de France, and are offered in numerous data science lectures in France and the French-speaking world.

The 2024 edition is now underway, with seven new challenges on a variety of themes, organized in partnership with theÉcole normale supérieure and the Institut Louis Bachelier. The seminar presents the first four data challenges for 2024 :

  • Challenge 1 : Elmy - Predicting electricity prices
    Presented by Anthony Galtier
  • Challenge 2 : SNCF/Transilien - Anticipate affluence in SNCF/Transilien stations
    Presented by Rémi Coulaud
  • Challenge 3 : Raidium - Learning radiological and oncological anatomy with few shots learning
    Presented by Corentin Dancette
  • Challenge 4 : CFM - High-frequency market data : can you identify the stock ?
