Abstract

This lecture is essentially devoted to the Vietnamese of the extremely diverse diaspora, ranging from Europe and Russia/Eastern Europe, to North America and Australia, and passing through Asian countries (Korea, Japan, Philippines, Taiwan, Singapore...) to Africa. The significant circulation and exchanges between Việt Nam and the diasporas, where women are particularly numerous, contribute to making the Vietnamese elite one of the most diverse in Southeast Asia. Through the scientific, philosophical, journalistic, literary and artistic production of the Vietnamese female diaspora, I will essentially analyze the part accessible to the Vietnamese public in Việt Nam, including via the Internet. This lesson will not, however, be limited to Vietnamese perceptions within the country, but will seek, as far as possible, to multiply comparative perspectives and cross-views, including with other countries in the region. Particular attention will be paid to young women and the challenges they face.
